Coaching and Instruction

Mike is well known for basing training on solid foundations rather than looking for quick fixes. Each successful step leads to a greater chance of success in the next, and reversely if steps are missed out then there will be a failure somewhere down the line.

A straight-shooter, Mike combines clear instruction with high expectations and doesn’t sugar coat anything, resulting in easily achievable training that will enable you to reach your goals.

Mike is regularly asked “to be another pair of eyes” by other dog trainers when working with difficult or complex situations, and is often referred to when a more experienced trainer is needed.

He has given lectures and workshops at colleges on breed specifics, behaviour traits and instincts for work, as well as guest instructing at other clubs or organisations. Having good dogs is the core of Mike’s ethos, and he uses his own dogs in both lessons and classes to help other owners.

Customers who will get the most from training with Mike

As a dog owner, you need to understand that how you handle your dog will reflect in how they behave and learn - it is not as simple as merely teaching them how to respond to a command.

You will need to structure your routines, management and training more optimally in order to reach your goals, and failing to do this is likely to mean you fall short of your aims. Cherry-picking the information you want to follow will not give the results you want to have.

Prioritising useful behaviours and learning opportunities over emotional or lazy choices is paramount to success, each training phase will reveal things that need tweaking to get the best from your dog.

wners are solely accountable for their effort levels, application and therefore success… it is rarely the dog’s fault!
